3 Marriott Properties Open in Canada

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Marriott International is continuing to grow its presence in Canada. The hospitality giant has opened three properties in the Ice District, Alberta and Dartmouth. Here are the details:

JW Marriott Debuts in Edmonton
Marriott has opened the JW Marriott Edmonton Ice District. Located in the heart of downtown Edmonton, the hotel offers modern guestrooms, specialty wellness programs, dining experiences, and 22,000 sq. ft. of meeting and conference spaces, which have been named after the Edmonton Oilers Alumni. Now the third JW Marriott property in Canada, the JW Marriott Edmonton Ice District was designed with guests’ well-being in mind. All touch points are intentional and inspired by the principles of mindfulness, being present in mind, nourished in body, and revitalized in spirit.

Fairfield by Marriott to Offer New Design in Edmonton
The 135-room Fairfield by Marriott Edmonton International Airport, Alberta has opened. Located at 4545 Airport Perimeter Rd., the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Edmonton International Airport will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by K5 Investment Group Inc. and managed by Hotel Equities. The new guestroom design is impactful, unique and addresses the functional needs of the Fairfield guest for an effortless experience. Each room features a modern lounge chair, serving as both functional and comfortable to either work or relax in. The artwork in the room takes center stage with the window treatment acting as a focal point, displaying photography taken at the Fairfield Farm. The material is sheer and allows light to pass through the photography, warming up the room and creating a comfortable environment. The hotel features soundproof rooms with temperature control systems.

Dual-Branded Courtyard and Residence Inn Opens in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Marriott has opened a 196-room dual-branded Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The Courtyard and Residence Inn Halifax Dartmouth hotels are owned in a partnership between Southwest Properties, JLK Global Fund International (JLK) and New Castle Hotels & Re Castle Hotels & Resorts of Shelton, CT. The hotel includes an indoor pool with 151-ft. waterslide and jacuzzi, fitness center, an outdoor patio with fire pit, an electric car charging station and 2,237 sq. ft. of meeting space.
