Castell Project Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the careers of women professionals in the hospitality industry, and She Has a Deal (SHaD), a real estate investment platform that creates pathways to hotel ownership and development for women, have launched Fortuna’s Table to provide an online community filled with resources to allow diverse potential hotel owners to make their hotel ownership dreams a reality.
“With the completion of a very successful testing period with 30 participants, we are ready to launch Fortuna’s Table and welcome prospective hoteliers,” said Peggy Berg, chair, Castell Project. “Both She Has a Deal and the Castell Project are dedicated to advancing women within the hospitality industry, and there is no more powerful vehicle to do so than through hotel ownership. Fortuna’s Table enables interested parties, particularly women and people of color, as they move through every step of the process.”
Named after the goddess of fortune and the personification of luck, Fortuna’s Table uses public relations and social media to introduce the opportunity to diversify assets and build wealth through hotel ownership to new markets in hospitality and other industries. Inspired by the business incubators that bring tech startups to life, the project provides aspiring and established entrepreneurs with knowledge, guidance and community. The website has a library of curated articles, webinars and templates. “Tables”—virtual collaborative discussions led by experienced hotel owners, sponsors and experts—provide guidance and community. Aspiring hotel owners and investors connect and learn from one another while sharing exclusive content.
Fortuna’s Table is sponsored by every major hotel brand, including Hilton, Accor, IHG, Marriott, Hyatt, Wyndham, Sonesta, G6, Radisson, Choice and Best Western. Lenders, consultants and operators such as Premier Capital and HotelAVE also support the effort. Sponsoring companies support diverse new owners with experts, guides and knowledge on Fortuna’s Table. Companies interested in sponsorship are encouraged to visit the website for further information.
“Fortuna’s Table fosters hotel ownership within communities that traditionally have not had access to the investment side of the business by providing them with knowledge and resources that build confidence and accelerate their ability to take action,” said Tracy Prigmore, TLTsolutions and founder, She Has a Deal. “The initial feedback we’ve received has been extremely encouraging. Already, this site is being used by women with successful careers in hospitality and in other industries, who have dreamed of owning a hotel, but didn’t know where or how to begin.”
