Woodcraft Hospitality Launches Interior Design Contest

ADDISON, IL—Woodcraft Hospitality, a hospitality casegoods manufacturer, is pleased to announce the launch of its first design contest, open to professionals and students involved in hospitality interior design, architecture or interior architecture. Design registration has begun and runs through Sept. 16. The official design submission deadline is Oct. 23 and the winning designs will be announced in November.

“We have created this contest as a way of recognizing top talent and providing rewards at a time when they are most needed,” said Woon Lee, president, Woodcraft Hospitality. “I have heard from many designers who are either out of work, short of work or overworked due to smaller staff. This contest is meant to help keep their creative powers flowing while offering the opportunity to be widely recognized in the media and see some financial reward too.”

This Woodcraft Hospitality sponsored Design Contest is meant to encourage and explore new ideas and techniques in designing the casegoods for the hotel guestroom interior space.

Three prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place with generous monetary rewards. The submissions will be judged by industry leaders: Vito Lotta, VP, architecture & design, Hilton Hotels & Resorts; Amy Hulbert Manktelow, VP, boutique & upscale brands, Best Western; Katie Popp, RVP, design services, Hyatt Hotels; Karrie Drinkhahn, co-founder/designer of One Line Design Studio; Trisha Poole, president of Design Poole Inc.; Sara Talleux, principal at Simeone Deary Design Group; Deidre Schwartz, design director at American Hotel Register; Christina Trauthwein, editor in chief, Hospitality Group, ICD Publications; and Allen Rolleri, publisher, Hospitality Group, ICD Publications.
