Two Cambrias make their debut; more openings

Cambria, an upscale brand from Choice, has opened two new properties, while a Red Roof Plus+ and another member of the Tribute collection from Marriott have debuted.

Cambria Hotel Shelby Township-Detroit
Cambria Hotels made its official debut in the Detroit metropolitan area with the opening of the Cambria Hotel Shelby Township-Detroit.

The four-story, 98-room hotel is the brand’s second property to open in Michigan, joining the Cambria Hotel Traverse City. Representatives from Choice Hotels and owner/developer Koucar Management attended the grand opening to commemorate the occasion.

The property is nearby Cherry Creek Corporate Park; the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site, an event venue hosting farmers markets, car shows and more; Cherry Creek Golf Course; Jimmy John’s Field, home to four independent league baseball teams; Mae Stecker Park, which includes Heritage Garden; and the General Motors Technical Center. The hotel is also close to downtown Detroit, home to several national corporate headquarters, including Ford, General Motors, Chrysler and Quicken Loans, as well as the TCF Convention Center, Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park and Ford Field.

Cambria Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach
Cambria Hotels has made its official debut in Fort Lauderdale, FL with the opening of the Cambria Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach.

This marks the brand’s fifth hotel in Florida, and secondin the greater Fort Lauderdale metro area, joining Cambria Hotel Ft. Lauderdale, Airport South & Cruise Port.

The hotel is close to the Atlantic Ocean, offering picturesque views and access to A1A, the city’s popular beachfront promenade with dining and retail options. The hotel is also near the Broward County Convention Center; Port Everglades, one of the world’s busiest cruise terminals; Hugh Taylor Birch State Park; Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park; and Bonnet House Museum & Gardens. Several corporate headquarters are close to the property, including DHL Solutions America, SATO Global Solutions and Spirit Airlines.

The Cambria Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach was developed by Hotel Motel Inc. and is owned by Jai and Jessica Motwani, experienced developers with several hotels in South Florida and the Midwest, and managed by Meyer Jabara Hotels.

Red Roof PLUS+ Dallas—Addison
Red Roof PLUS+ Dallas—Addison in Addison, TX, has made its debut. The opening of the 107-room Red Roof PLUS+ was the end result of a massive renovation of what had formerly been a Red Roof Inn. Features of the overhaul include a full lobby renovation, full room renovation, fresh interior and exterior paint and upgraded FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment).

The property is also close to Addison Circle Park, Village on the Parkway and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

Hotel Vance, Portland 
Hotel Vance, Portland, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, has opened within Broadway Tower, following a hotel transformation. It is managed by Crescent Hotels and Resorts.

Short for “Advance,” Hotel Vance invites innovation and stimulates productivity, cultivating inspiration through the integration of Portland’s vibrant culture and a modern sense of creativity, according to the company. The boutique lifestyle hotel features 180 contemporary rooms, a restaurant and full-service bar, and meeting and event spaces—including a games studio.

Broadway Tower, which opened in September 2018, is a 19-story mixed-use building. BPM Real Estate Group of Portland maintained ownership of the 180-room hotel after selling the 11 floors of Class A Offices to Principal Real Estate Investment for a record price in 2020.
