INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business is tracking hotels that are now open or being planned around the globe, including the first St. Regis hotel in Hong Kong and Hyatt Place in Germany.
St. Regis Hong Kong
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is collaborating with China Resources Property to bring the St. Regis brand to Hong Kong by early 2019. Marriott International has nine properties in Hong Kong, but this will be the first property for the St. Regis brand in the city.
With interiors created by Hong Kong-based designer André Fu, the 25-story St. Regis Hong Kong will offer 129 guest suites, many of which will feature views across Victoria Harbor and Kowloon Bay.
Located in historic Wan Chai, with its skyscrapers, high-end shopping and commercial buildings, the property will be within walking distance to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, as well as Victoria Harbor.
Amenities will include the brand’s St. Regis Butler Service, signature Chinese and French restaurants, a 320-seat banquet hall and a heated swimming pool. An open-air terrace next to a lobby lounge will provide a venue for al fresco gatherings, and a St. Regis Bar will serve up the hotel’s rendition of the brand’s signature cocktail, the Bloody Mary.
Hyatt Place Frankfurt Airport
The Hyatt Place Frankfurt Airport is the first of the brand in Germany and the sixth in Europe.
The hotel is part of the established Gateway Gardens business quarter, close to Frankfurt Airport. It offers 312 rooms, along with more than 3,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and event space.
Wanda Vista Beijing
Wanda Vista Beijing recently opened as the 19th Wanda Vista-branded hotel.
The property, formerly the Sofitel Wanda Beijing, is located in Beijing’s Central Business District. It has 417 guestrooms, including 310 deluxe rooms, 63 executive floor deluxe rooms and 44 suites. The presidential suite is 8,600 sq. ft.
Four distinctive restaurants and a lobby lounge offer various dining choices. The locations include Café Vista, which serves culinary creations with flavors and styles from all over the world. River Drunk Huaiyang Restaurant has a high-end atmosphere. Quyan Chinese Restaurant specializes in premium “Lu Cai” cuisine, showcasing Chinese traditional and Confucian culture.
The property has 14 meeting rooms covering 36,000 sq. ft. The 14,725-sq.-ft. pillar-free grand ballroom can be divided into three banquet halls to accommodate functions of 850 people.

Harbor Club opened its doors in St. Lucia under the new ownership of Canadian entrepreneur and businessman Wes Hall. It has 115 tropical cabin-style rooms and suites.
Harbor Club offers contemporary cabin-style rooms, reminiscent of luxury cruise cabins, and suites with a nautical-inspired design, including a swim-up room enclave with its own private pool.
The resort also has five dining options under Chef Marco Festini Cromer; four swimming pools; a gym; spa retreat; water-sports playground; and dive center.
