NATIONAL REPORT—Benchmark has added another property to its growing portfolio, Hotel Equities enters the land of Canucks, and there’s more management news. Here’s what we found:

Benchmark Adds to Portfolio
Benchmark has added another Texas property to its portfolio, Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center. Currently under construction on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, the eight-story facility has 250 guest accommodations and suites, a formal restaurant, two-story bar and lounge, a gym and a business center.

Hotel Equities Enters Canadian Market
Hotel Equities will oversee two Marriott hotels in Canada. The management company adds its first hotels in Canada after the firm’s executive team recently restructured the organization to support both domestic and international growth. Located in Alberta, in the western region of Canada, the new Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Edmonton North and the recently built TownePlace Suites by Marriott Edmonton South are owned by Iliyan Hospitality Inc.

The Hotel Group Adds Seattle Property
The Hotel Group has been selected to manage The Sound Hotel Seattle Belltown, a Tapestry by Hilton in Seattle. This is the first Tapestry for Hilton in Washington state. The hotel is being developed as part of a 42-story mixed-use building, which will also house Arrivè, a residential complex with designed one- and two-bedroom contemporary rental apartments. The 142-room hotel property will be located on floors one through 10 with a first-floor lobby and restaurant. Located on the seventh floor will be a bar/lounge, pre-function space and 770 sq. ft. of meeting space, which will divide into two rooms.
