These Hotels Have Meetings in Mind

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotels are kicking off the New Year with a full array of meeting spaces ready for celebrations and special events. Here’s a look at where guests can meet, mix and mingle:

Waterfront Beach Resort Offers Three New Venues

The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, has completed several new meeting and event spaces across the oceanfront property to offer a wider variety of options for events ranging from intimate business meetings to large-scale weddings and celebrations.

The property has more than 50,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event spaces with ocean views, the newest of which are the Breakwater Ballroom, Whitewater Ballroom, and Coastal Ballroom and terrace—all located in the newly completed nine-story Twin Dolphin Tower.

The Estate Yountville Gets Social

The Estate Yountville completed its contemporary meeting and event space, The Social at The Estate, which enhances the overall renovations to the 22-acre property that recently opened the Hotel Villagio.

Hotel Villagio, the second and final hotel to undergo its major transformation and multimillion-dollar renovation, completes the rebranding of The Estate Yountville. This new property is a bold reimagining of luxury in Yountville and offers an entirely unique experience than that of its serene sister property, Vintage House.

JW Marriott Nashville Goes Green

The 33-story JW Marriott Nashville has unveiled a first-of-its-kind development of a private park in an urban setting aptly named The Green at JW. Upon completion, the 13,000-sq.-ft. area will be open to guests of the hotel as well as corporate and social events including receptions, team building, concerts and charity events.

The expansive lawn will occupy the northwest corner of the property and is a welcomed addition to the recently established 10,000 sq. ft. of outdoor space located on the hotel’s pool deck at the Cabana Club. The Green at JW will feature an entry plaza that invites guests to lounge on benches or in the grass and enjoy the temperate Nashville, TN, weather in front of a newly commissioned mural.

In Texas, Three Hotels with Meetings in Mind

Benchmark is expanding its footprint in Texas through distinctive properties focused on meetings—Hotel Contessa in San Antonio; Doug Pitcock ’49 Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center in College Station; and Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen & Watters Creek Convention Center in Allen near Dallas.

The Doug Pitcock ’49 Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center, which opened on the campus of Texas A&M University in August 2018, has a rooftop deck with panoramic views of the campus and the Kyle Field of Aggie football fame. The IACC-approved conference center is open to all markets, regardless of affiliation or event theme. The property features 35,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space that offers an 8,300-sq.-ft. ballroom and 22 flexible meeting rooms.

Opening in January 2019, Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen & Watters Creek Convention Center is the first hotel in the Delta brand designed specifically for meetings. The hotel’s pool patio and green complex sets the scene for Southwestern celebrations. The hotel’s contemporary design encompasses 300 guestrooms and suites and 90,000 sq. ft. of meeting and convention space.

Hotel Contessa, located on the city’s legendary Riverwalk, hosts its outdoor events on a patio and upstairs terrace overlooking a scenic stretch of the San Antonio river. The hotel offers 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space that includes 11 meeting rooms, a ballroom and outdoor patios with views of the Riverwalk and the city beyond.
