Recent openings include The Laura Hotel, a member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, in Houston; a newly renovated Radisson hotel in Philadelphia; a recently transformed lodge in Wyoming named for a Western novel; and a Candlewood Suites property in Tennessee.
The Laura Hotel, Autograph Collection
The Laura Hotel, Autograph Collection (above) has opened in Houston’s central business district. Featuring 223 guestrooms, the property was named after the steamship that city founders navigated to solidify Houston as a center of industry and opportunity, according to the hotel.
Amenities include Hull & Oak Southern Kitchen restaurant and an adjacent bar, a rooftop pool, a fitness center (guests also have access to Lifetime Fitness next to the hotel) and a spa opening this spring. The property also offers events such as a monthly wine tasting curated by the hotel’s sommelier and a weekend listening series.
Radisson Hotel Philadelphia
Radisson has opened the Radisson Hotel Philadelphia, located in the City Center District, following an extensive multimillion-dollar renovation showcasing the brand’s signature Scandinavian design.
The hotel offers 212 remodeled guestrooms featuring flat-screen TVs with premium streaming services, free WiFi and mini fridges. Suites offer in-suite kitchenettes along with separate seating areas. The open-concept lobby includes check-in pods, coffee and tea facilities, a snack shop and the Whit Lounge, the hotel’s on-site bar and restaurant. The hotel also offers a fitness center, luggage service, room service and Park ‘N Fly airport parking and valet services, as well as a meeting room that holds up to 275 attendees.
The Virginian Lodge
The Virginian Lodge in Jackson, WY has opened following a complete transformation encompassing 165 all-new guest rooms and suites, a central courtyard with an all-season outdoor pool and a new lobby. New food and beverage concepts will make their debut in late spring.
NYC-based interior design team, GOODRICH, led The Virginian’s redesign, which honors The Virginian’s past inspired by the classic Western novel (and television show of the same name), according to the hotel.
Also making their debut are Wister Hall, a flexible event space spanning 4,185 sq. ft., and an outpost of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Sports Shop, offering ski and bike rentals and equipment.
Candlewood Suites Columbia
The 73-room Candlewood Suites Columbia has opened in Columbia, TN. Dellisart will be managing the property for Columbia Hospitality LLC.
The all-suite hotel is conveniently located near Maury Regional Medical Center, James K. Polk House, Anthenaeum Rectory, Cerner Corporation Headquarters and some of the subsidiaries for General Motors and General Electric.
Every suite has a fully equipped kitchen and a large living area, while amenities include a fitness center, guest laundry and the signature Candlewood Cupboard for breakfast and snack items.
