Six Hotel Openings to Know

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business has been rounding up openings across the U.S. Here are some new additions to the industry:

University Hotel Comes to College Station, TX

The Doug Pitcock ’49 Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center is scheduled to open in August. The 250-room property will offer the university’s academic, cultural and athletic resources to all markets regardless of affiliation or event theme. The hotel will be under the management of Benchmark and a part of Benchmark Resorts & Hotels brand.

The hotel’s conference center spans 252,500 sq. ft., with 35,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space to accommodate up to 1,000 guests. There are also 22 flexible meeting rooms. Dining options will include a restaurant open for all meals, a casual bistro serving drinks and light refreshments, bar and a patio restaurant.

DoubleTree by Hilton Expands in Ohio

Marshall Hotels & Resorts opened the 125-room DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown in Youngstown, OH. New York-based Pan Brothers Associates Inc. owns the hotel.

The hotel has 5,300 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, accommodating up to 150 people. There’s also a 24-hour business center, fitness center, and dining options that include Bistro 1907 along with Hilton’s Made Market with to-go options.

The hotel is near OH WOW! Children’s Center for Science and Technology, Youngstown State University, Youngstown Business Incubator (YBI), America Makes, Covelli Center, and more.

Boutique Property Reopens in Falmouth, MA 

The Coonamessett, formerly known as the Coonamessett Inn, has reopened following a renovation under boutique hotel collection, Lark Hotels. There are now 29 redesigned guestrooms, 18 of which are pet-friendly.

Open year-round, The Coonamessett has three private function rooms ranging in capacity from 70-300 guests.

Dining options include Eli’s Tavern, American regional cuisine with a New England twist. There’s also a cafe-style breakfast, which is included in each room rate and available onsite every morning. The Coonamessett is located on Jones Pond with access to public beaches and ferries to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, MA.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Opens in Cary, NC

Homewood Suites by Hilton to open Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh Cary I-40. The 108-suite hotel is developed owned and managed by Parks Hospitality Group.

The hotel has a combination of studio and one-bedroom accommodations, with fully equipped kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. There’s complimentary daily hot breakfast, evening socials Monday-Thursday, WiFi, and a grocery shopping service. The property also has an outdoor kitchen and grill area, outdoor pool, and fitness center.

Studio 6 Opens in Missouri

G6 Hospitality has opened a Studio 6 location in Kansas City, MO. Situated in downtown, the fully renovated property is close to the Westport area of Kansas City.

The hotel has 52 rooms with wood-effect flooring, flat-screen TVs, pedestal beds and granite bathroom countertops. In addition, Studio 6 provides a fully equipped kitchen, guest laundry, expanded cable, WiFi and parking.

New Space in the Shenandoah Valley

Hotel Madison & Shenandoah Valley Conference Center has opened. The 230-room hotel and event space is located in the Shenandoah Valley.

The hotel can accommodate groups ranging from 12-1,200 people. The conference center offers 21,000 sq. ft. of full-service event space with multiple breakout options. Ballrooms with moveable partitions and various-sized boardrooms all come standard with advanced audio-visual capabilities. Approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of outdoor terrace space is also available.

For dining options, the hotel has catering services along with Montpelier Restaurant & Bar, the hotel’s flagship restaurant, which will be unveiled in August.
