Resorts World Las Vegas to open in June; more coming soon

The new year will see new properties opening across the globe, with Resorts World Las Vegas and Callicoon Hills arriving in June, and the sixth Hyatt Ziva Resort debuting in Cancun later in the year. Here’s a look:

Resorts World Las Vegas set to debut in June
Resorts World Las Vegas, the first ground-up resort development on the Las Vegas Strip in more than a decade, will open its doors on June 24.

Through a partnership with Hilton, Resorts World Las Vegas will offer 3,500 guestrooms and suites from three premium Hilton brands—the largest multi-brand deal in Hilton’s history—including the largest Conrad Hotels & Resorts property in the world, one of the first LXR Hotels & Resorts locations in the U.S. and a marquee Hilton Hotels & Resorts hotel.

“After years of planning and constructing this monumental property with some of the most innovative partners in the industry, Resorts World Las Vegas will redefine the hospitality standard in Las Vegas with unmatched dining and entertainment, more variety of hotel accommodations than anywhere else on the Strip, and the city’s most progressive technology,” said Scott Sibella, president, Resorts World Las Vegas. “We are filled with gratitude and excitement as we approach our opening this June and hope to play a role in Las Vegas’ rebound after what has been an incredibly challenging year for the destination and greater hospitality industry.”

Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World will have 1,774 full-service guestrooms and suites ranging from 400-3,300 sq. ft. Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World will offer 1,496 guestrooms and suites ranging from 550-2,800 sq. ft. Crockfords Las Vegas, LXR Hotels & Resorts will have a collection of 236 ultra-luxury guestrooms and suites ranging from 550-7,000 sq. ft.

Callicoon Hills to open in June
Implied Hotels has plans to open Callicoon Hills, its next property, in June.

The company reports that the hotel will serve as a place for those who wish to retreat to nature without pretense, yet value approachable luxury, personable hospitality and the comfort of thoughtful design. Located in Callicoon Center, NY, the property has 65 guestrooms, multiple event venues including an event barn, indoor conference space and an on-site restaurant, bar, catering program and coffee shop.

Founded in 1905 as Hill’s, the spirit of Callicoon Hills harkens to what was known as the Borscht Belt era of the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s, when the Catskills was in its original heyday as a quirky and hip destination for New Yorkers. The team revives the property’s 120-year history as a retreat for fatigued city dwellers, returning it to its vacation roots while transforming it to meet the needs of the local community and travelers, the company reports.

Callicoon Hills’ design includes locally made furniture from Samuel Moyer Furniture and Wishbone Woodworking, among others; ethically made rugs from In Residence; and lighting from American and international designers including Schoolhouse and LeKrazyHorse.

Hyatt Ziva Resort Expected in Riviera Cancun in 2021
Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Playa Hotels & Resorts N.V. have revealed plans for a new Hyatt Ziva all-inclusive resort in Mexico’s Riviera Cancun region, slated to open later this year.

Situated between Playa del Carmen and the Cancun Hotel Zone, the 438-room Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun will offer a variety of amenities including several globally inspired and locally authentic restaurants; multiple swimming pools; the Zen Spa inspired by pre-Hispanic Mayan culture with 12 indoor and eight outdoor treatment rooms designed to reflect the natural scenery; and a fitness center. Additionally, the property will offer more than 15,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space.

The hotel will bring the total number of Hyatt Ziva resorts to six across Mexico and the Caribbean. Playa Hotels & Resorts will operate the resort.
