Resorts Debut in the Caribbean

Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort and Meliá Caribe Beach Resort Officially Open

Meliá Hotels International has opened two distinct new properties: Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort, an adults-only resort, and Meliá Caribe Beach Resort, a resort for everyone.

An adults-only property, Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort has 544 rooms, inclusive of standard junior suites and 136 The Level suites. The Level amenities include preferential treatment such as an exclusive VIP lounge for check-in/out, an exclusive pool, additional restaurant inclusivity at the Quimera Restaurant & Rooftop, free Internet access, premium beverages, and hors d’oeuvres alongside coffee/tea service throughout the day. The Level concierge can also arrange for priority reservations for à la carte restaurants, treatments at the spa, golf reservations and more.

Dining options at Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort include seven individual restaurant concepts with cuisine ranging from Mediterranean to Italian. Casa Nostra has a wood-fire grill and Italian specialties; Muoian oriental-style restaurant, offers dim sum, Vietnamese, sushi and Robatta-style cuisine; Mosaico blends a casual Mediterranean dining experience with a local and art deco aesthetic; Rumba is an open-air breakfast and lunch experience with views of the Caribbean sea and an international buffet; and Replay is a sports bar offering cocktails.

Specializing in family-friendly activities, services and amenities, Meliá Caribe Beach Resort has an array of room options specifically designed to meet multi-generational needs. The resort has 611 rooms, comprising 154 The Level suites, 125 beachside family rooms, and a mix of 332 premium beachside and deluxe rooms. Intended to provide maximum comfort and well-being, the accommodations are decorated in light colors, wood accents and an overall sense of elegance. In touch with the destination’s environment, the property layout showcases abundant gardens with local flowers and family-friendly wildlife like turtles.

Meliá Caribe Beach Resort debuts with eight dining options on property and introducing a new free-flowing experience, families can take advantage of the proximity of Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort earning everyday guests a total of 13 restaurant selections and for guests of The Level, 15 total options.

Excellence Group Luxury Hotels & Resorts Expands Portfolio with Finest Punta Cana

Excellence Group Luxury Hotels and Resorts has revealed plans to open the second outpost from their Finest Resorts brand. Set to open its doors the first half of 2020, Finest Punta Cana will be set on the shores of Punta Cana and will be the third Excellence Group property in the Dominican Republic.

The resort will have 450 suites, including 60 family suites, that will range from 800 to 2000 sq. ft. All of the suites will offer a variety of guest touch points, such as oversized hot tubs, fully stocked in-room premium bars, private pools, decks, rooftop terraces and family-designed suites.

Guests will be able to choose from at least 20 bars and restaurants, private club settings in the Excellence Club for those seeking adults-only relaxation, an exclusive Finest Club for all ages, a spa with hydrotherapy circuit, six swimming pools with a children’s pool and baby wading pool, and a playground and pavilion for children and teens.

Wymara Resort and Villas Debuts in Turks & Caicos

Wymara Ltd. has unveiled Wymara Resort and Villas, a resort set against the panoramic seascape of Grace Bay Beach in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands, ushering in a new year and a new era for the luxury resort and newly-unveiled oceanfront Villas on Turtle Tail.

Along with its redesigned beachfront restaurant, Zest, and its rosé wine and blush champagne-themed Pink Bar, which sits directly on the sand, Wymara has introduced seven new villas on Turtle Tail Bay, located 2.5 miles away from the resort. The four- and five-bedroom villas are each located on about half an acre of elevated hillside overlooking the southern shores and Caribbean Sea. The have two private pools, expansive indoor-outdoor living areas, a sunken outdoor fire pit lounge area and over-the-water swimming platforms with direct ocean access.
