NATIONAL REPORT—Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Marriott International Inc. has begun furloughing tens of thousands of employees, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The report noted that the company has shut down some of its managed properties and trimmed staff through furloughs at those properties that are still operating; during the furlough, these employees will not be paid, but hotel owners will continue to pay for their health care benefits.
According to the report, the company expects to bring back as many employees as possible when business returns.
