Recent Revamps in Ireland, Spain, Canada

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Whether it’s inspired by Dublin’s culture or an enhanced version of a monumental palace, global hotels are sprucing up their offerings for today’s modern traveler. Here’s a look at three of them:

Conrad Dublin

The transformation of Conrad Dublin was heavily inspired by Dublin’s literary culture and local heritage. The nearby Iveagh Gardens also served as a main source of inspiration for the design.

The renovation includes refurbished guest bedrooms and suites; a full makeover of the presidential suite; the opening of a new, all-day brasserie and a new ground-floor lounge and bar. A new lobby and exterior area round out the enhancements.

The hotel’s 192 guestrooms have been revamped with upgraded fabrics, a subtle color palette of greens and grays, natural oak flooring and finishes such as Herringbone wool carpets and wood paneling on the walls.

Nita Lake Lodge

Nita Lake Lodge, a lakeside boutique hotel in Whister, BC, has introduced a new concept for Aura Restaurant, the lodge’s signature dining room.

Following in Cure Lounge & Patio’s footsteps with a complete makeover, Aura reopened to usher in the winter season. Again working alongside architects Scott & Scott and interior designer Carolyn Scholz, the new Aura space is a continuation of the subtle and modern style used throughout Cure Lounge & Patio, with bright pops of color, bold artwork and custom furniture featured throughout.

While embracing a fresh new look, the space incorporates tributes to the property’s Alpine surroundings and Canadian heritage. The redesigned space allows guests to experience the chefs in action with an open-concept kitchen, while taking in views of Whistler.

Hotel Alhambra Palace

The Hotel Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain, a Luxe Collection by L.E. Hotels, has completed a renovation of one of the oldest luxury hotels in the country. The palace hotel is inspired by the Alhambra Palace monument itself and is a representative of a renewed tradition of high-end hospitality, according to the brand.

The newly renovated property offers 108 rooms and suites, each with views of Granada and Sierra Nevada’s peaks.
