Properties under new management in the Carolinas

Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG) and Davidson Hospitality Group have take over the management of hotels in North and South Carolina.

Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG)
Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG), an Atlanta-based, private hotel management and investment company, has signed management agreements to immediately begin operations of the 105-room TownePlace Suites Charlotte Fort Mill and the 123-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlotte—Ballantyne. The two hotels mark the ninth and 10th takeover in the past two months.

Located just outside of Indian Land, the TownePlace Suites is less than five miles from the Ballantyne Corporate Park and adjacent to the Red Ventures headquarters. Hotel amenities include complimentary hot breakfast, an outdoor pool, patio seating around an outdoor fire pit and two Weber grills, fitness facility, meeting space, game room, guest laundry and lobby workspace area. Guestrooms provide fully equipped kitchens with a full-size oven, four-top burners, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave.

Proximate to Ballantyne Corporate Park, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites is located near Siemens, Premier Inc. and Accenture, as well as a short drive to Uptown Charlotte. The hotel provides a complimentary Grab & Go Express Start breakfast, meeting room, business center, 24/7 fitness center and outdoor pool. Guestrooms have Simply Smart Bedding, WiFi connectivity, minifridges and microwaves.

Davidson Hospitality Group
Davidson Hospitality Group has been tapped by RLJ Lodging Trust to manage The Mills House Hotel in Charleston, SC, under Pivot, its lifestyle operating vertical.

Built in 1853, the property, otherwise known as “The Pink Hotel,” is a testament to the history of Charleston and features 216 rooms and suites, 10,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space and the Barbadoes Room restaurant. Under new management, the property will undergo a significant transformation and elevated repositioning.

In the city of Charleston, Pivot also operates Hotel Bella Grace and The Ryder Hotel. The Mills House Hotel is situated in the heart of Charleston’s Historic District, near the King St. retail area, as well as the City Market and other popular tourist attractions. Since the property opened in the mid-19th century, The Mills House Hotel, named for and built by local grain merchant Otis Mills, has seen a myriad of significant historical events and the hotel miraculously survived the city’s destruction during the Civil War. Although it was demolished and replicated in 1968, key elements from the original building, including the ironwork and cornices, were preserved and remain a part of the hotel’s architecture.
