Projects in the Works on the West Coast

NATIONAL REPORT—New hotel projects are on the rise on the West Coast, including a modularly constructed property in California. Here’s a look: 

Modular Project Underway in San Jose

Westlake Urban and architectural services firm AO have commenced the stacking of Westlake’s first modular project, the San Jose Hilton Garden Inn.

The 150-room project comprises 88 modular units built off-site in Guerdon Modular Buildings’ factory in Boise, Idaho. The units will be stacked over the course of 10 days in four stories above a podium structure. The hotel is anticipated to reach completion in spring 2020.

AC by Marriott San Diego Breaks Ground

AC Hotels by Marriott recently held the groundbreaking of the AC by Marriott San Diego.

The property is owned and managed by Briad Lodging Group LLC, the hotel division of Livingston, NJ-based The Briad Group. The hotel is one of 11 new properties Briad will open in the next three years.

Slated to open in March 2021, AC by Marriott San Diego will employee approximately 100 people and will include Briad’s newest dining concept—The Bradford Fine Spirits & Tapas, a unique rooftop experience.

The hotel is located in the Gaslamp Quarter and provides guests access to the San Diego Convention Center, Petco Park, Seaport Village, USS Midway Museum, Waterfront Park and a variety of shops and restaurants.

Washington’s Fourth My Place Coming to Wenatchee

My Place Hotels has broken ground on its fourth hotel in The Evergreen State.

The new four-story, 63-unit hotel is being developed by Wenatchee 8 LLC, and is expected to open in the spring. Pybus Public Market, Downtown Wenatchee and Town Toyota Center are all nearby.
