Base4 Launches Construction College
Architecture, engineering and design firm Base4 has launched Stonepile Construction College, a new institution of higher education. The $1.3-trillion construction field currently lacks a robust team of leaders to innovate and build for tomorrow, according to the company. The shortage of skilled leaders in this industry is a national crisis. Yet, the field cannot attract enough bright leaders because the students of today want to go to college, leaving many of the typically technical trades lacking new leadership.

Stonepile provides three degree programs: Associate of Applied Science in Construction, Bachelor of Applied Science in Construction Management and Master of Applied Science in Prefabrication, Modular and Offsite Construction.

Just like Base4, Stonepile students enjoy an online and innovative experience, giving them marketable construction and leadership skills while earning an AAS, BAS, or MAS degree, according to the company.

LG Introduces Dozens of LED Signage Models
LG Business Solutions USA doubled down on its commitment to LED display technology with more than three dozen indoor and outdoor LED Signage models that are ideal for a diverse range of commercial applications including stores, restaurants, conference rooms, hotels, theaters, museums and more.

“LED Signage is the most impactful and cost-effective way for businesses and entities of all kinds to compellingly deliver messaging and content,” said Dan Smith, LG Business Solutions USA’s VP of business development. “Just as LCD and plasma televisions changed the game in their day by providing a larger, brighter, better-looking canvas to display messaging and marketing content, LED Signage is transforming how commercial venues think about their digital messaging and design today.”

The 46 models, which span LG’s 10 different LED Signage categories, will all be available this year, with 19 models shipping now. Featuring pixel pitches of 0.9mm to 16mm, the LG LED Signage models deliver high brightness capabilities; excellent off-axis viewing quality; lower power and physical infrastructure requirements; and 100,000-hour lifespans, according to the company.

According to Smith, LED Signage has many other advantages over traditional display solutions, including quiet operation, extended product lifespan and the ability to break out of the traditional 16:9 aspect ratio with custom displays built in virtually any size or shape.

Ohhy Ovation Introduces Hand-Sanitizing Station
Ohhy Ovation has developed a sanitizing station that can be mounted on the wall or placed in a floor stand for hotel managers to provide to customers seeking a solution for quick hand cleaning. The unit is designed to be placed at the guest check-in, hotel lobby, dining areas or other locations such as the bathroom or by elevators.

Key features of the unit include an interchangeable magnetic graphic on the front for the hotel logo or, with enough volume, an ad revenue option for the restaurants to potentially earn income; metal construction to withstand outdoor use; and a motion-activated sensor. The unit holds 1,000ml of sanitizer, and a refill service is offered to keep the unit running and filled up.
