This week’s Partner News is highlighted by Teneo Hospitality naming Gary Murakami its new VP, sales and industry relations, OpenKey integrating with RMS Cloud and Fetch partnering with Zaplox. Read about all that and more below.

Industry veteran Gary Murakami joins Teneo Hospitality
Teneo Hospitality Group has appointed seasoned meetings and hotel industry leader Gary Murakami as VP, sales and industry relations. In this newly created role, he is responsible for building awareness of Teneo’s plans for the future across the global meetings, events and travel industries. Based in San Francisco, Murakami will assume primary responsibility for sales originating from the West Coast markets.

Murakami brings more than two decades of experience within the hotel, convention and meetings management industries in a variety of professional sales and sales leadership roles. His experience spans the corporate business travel, leisure travel, associations and group meetings and events markets with such prominent hotel brands as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, he was director of global sales at MGM Resorts International, working with an international portfolio of destination resort properties.

OpenKey integrates with RMS Cloud
OpenKey has integrated with RMS Cloud (RMS), enabling hotels to provide automated mobile key delivery, streamlining the check-in process for guests and hotel staff.

By partnering with RMS, OpenKey gives hotels the option to issue a digital key at check-in with no need for additional onboarding or registration. Hotel staff can open the guest’s reservation in RMS, ensure that the guest’s mobile phone number is included in the reservation, and send an encrypted digital key to their smartphone.

When a guest makes a reservation through RMS, their information is automatically added to the OpenKey HOST platform, eliminating the need for front desk agents to access OpenKey when issuing digital keys.

Fetch, Zaplox form partnership
Fetch, a pay-and-order solution for hospitality venues from POS8, has partnered with Zaplox, a provider of mobile solutions for hotels, resorts, casinos and vacation homes. With tech-driven COVID-prevention measures becoming increasingly popular, Fetch and Zaplox entered into a non-exclusive mutual referral program to strengthen and support the mobile guest experience.

Fetch’s contactless ordering system reduces interaction to maintain a stress-free visit for both guests and staff. No app or download necessary, Fetch is the first in the world to introduce instant ordering to hospitality powered by App Clips (Apple) and Instant Apps (Android); simply tap, order and pay.

One of Zaplox’s contact-free solutions for the hotel guest is a mobile guest app, custom-branded for the individual hotel, that allows guests to check-in, get their mobile keys, pay and checkout. With access to up-to-date information about the hotel’s amenities, services, and things-to-do in the area, customers can plan their stay easily with information at their fingertips.

OTA Insight releases two new features
OTA Insight, the cloud-based data intelligence platform for the hospitality industry, has launched three new features that have been developed to empower hoteliers to better navigate the recovery period and beyond.

The three features are the Global Market Insight Map, which tracks worldwide recovery and spots early signs of demand; Rate Strategy, where users can uncover their competitors’ discounting strategy and adjust their own to successfully capture that demand; and Market OTB: Forward Looking Benchmark, which measures the effectiveness of the user’s strategy in converting that demand.
