NATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business has been rounding up industry appointments. Here’s what we found:

Hilton Names Global Head of Diversity, Inclusion
Hilton has named Jon Muñoz as VP of global diversity and inclusion. In his new role, Muñoz will oversee Hilton’s global diversity management practice, focusing on developing culture, talent and marketplace strategies that cultivate inclusion. Muñoz joined Hilton in 2011 as senior director of diversity and inclusion. Prior to joining Hilton, Muñoz served in diversity roles for Sprint and multicultural marketing roles for Nextel Communications, Bank One (JPMorgan Chase), and NationsBank (Bank of America).

Onyx Appoints Gen McKenzie as EVP of HR
Onyx Hospitality Group has appointed Gen McKenzie as its new EVP of human resources. With more than two decades of experience in HR strategy and talent management both in hospitality as well as marketing and advertising, Gen joins ONYX from integrated marketing and communications agency MullenLowe Group, where she led the global firm’s regional HR agenda as regional head of talent management, based in Singapore.

Aqua-Aston Names Chief Development Officer
Aqua-Aston Hospitality has appointed Chris Port to the role of chief development officer. He reports to Kelvin Bloom, CEO, Aqua-Aston Hospitality. Most recently, Port served as a development leader for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. Prior to Kimpton, Port launched Caesars Global Living, an entertainment hospitality division in China and India, with the senior leadership team at Caesars Entertainment. He also spent nine years as a senior executive at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide/Starwood Vacation Ownership.

Bill McQuillen Joins AHLA Communications Team
AHLA has appointed Bill McQuillen as VP of communications. He is a veteran public affairs and communications official. Reporting to Maietta, McQuillen will drive AHLA’s messaging and media relations efforts, closely collaborating with the government affairs team to drive key policy priorities for the hotel industry, including workforce and distribution issues, and, importantly, promoting the industry’s focus on workforce development programs that advance the careers of employees. He joins AHLA from global public relations firm Burson-Marsteller. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Bloomberg News.

Corinthia Hotels Fills Senior Director of Marketing Role
Corinthia Hotels has appointed Rebecca Barrie to the newly created role of senior director of marketing. She is an international marketing professional with more than 15 years experience. Barrie joins Corinthia from British Airways where she led the global marketing strategy, planning and performance for the airline and has been at the forefront of delivering their commercial and brand targets.

V Starr Interiors’ Team Grows as Leadership Roles Shift
The executive team at V Starr Interiors continues to grow and evolve this year as the former design director, Sonya Haffey, has been promoted to VP; and Holly Caswell Nixon has been hired as the new design director. After adding three important new hires last year, the design firm has expanded significantly since its inception in 2002, with 12 team members now able to take on larger and more complex projects.
