Columbia Sussex Completes Dallas Marriott Las Colinas’ Renovation
Columbia Sussex has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of its Dallas Marriott Las Colinas. All 364 guestrooms, including three presidential suites, have been renovated to reflect this design philosophy using wood, metal and leather that harkens to the ranching history of Las Colinas, coupled with a modern and upscale twist reflecting Marriott’s modern aesthetic. With more than 750 sq. ft. of living space, two bedrooms and three baths, the three Parlor Suites are the largest sleeping rooms in the hotel. One room has a king-sized bed and the second bedroom has two queen beds.. The luxury furnishings include a Parlor with a 55-in. flat screen television, an eight-seat dining table, a fold-out sofa and kitchenette.

Materials such as Post Oak end-tables and South Texas Limestone brick are being used in the city.  The hotel’s more than 27,000 sq. ft. of indoor-outdoor meeting spaces comprise 12 event rooms, including 550-sq.-ft. boardrooms and a more than 10,000-sq.-ft. ballroom, that can accommodate groups of 25 up to 1,000 guests. Design highlights include a stacked stone wall in the Greatroom dining space that reflects stone found in the Dallas Las Colinas area. The entry to the chef’s table and private dining room, which will double as a boardroom, reflects the local architecture that incorporates Southern and sleek lines and the use of natural materials found in the area.

DiLeonardo Finishes Renovations of Marriott Mystic Hotel & Spa
DiLeonardo completed a full renovation of Marriott Mystic Hotel’s guestrooms, lobby and bar.  The inspiration for the design was driven by the process of Maritime craftsmanship, architectural vernacular and materials, embracing elements reflecting the history of the area. The lobby lounge has a variety of flexible seating to cater to guests’ needs for small meetings at fully equipped high tables or to sit back and relax comfortably near the fireplace. The feature wall behind the reception desk expresses the design story through art. A handcrafted plaster bas relief displays an abstracted interpretation of the characteristic dry-stone walls of the area, and in bronze glass the Mystic River waterways. A fully redesigned bar, high top communal tables and social seating areas, evoke a light and airy feel grounded by surrounding warm wood tones, according to the firm. In each guestroom, a custom headboard wall transports visitors to 18th century New England with an oversized vintage map of the area. Each room creates the feeling of deeply rooted history with subtle color palettes and understated nautical motifs.
