Le Méridien opens second NYC hotel

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 brands, has opened its second property in New York City, Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue. Taking cues from the European-born brand’s mid-century modern design aesthetic, the hotel is a 21-story building featuring 165 guestrooms and 17 apartment-style residences.

“Le Méridien has always inspired travelers to explore the world in style and savor the good life through the lens of its European spirit, and what better city to continue this legacy than in Manhattan, with our second hotel in the destination,” said Jennifer Connell, global brand leader, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts/VP, distinctive premium brands, Marriott International. “As we continue to celebrate the brand’s momentous 50th anniversary this year, we’re delighted to expand on our global footprint and bring a distinct stay experience and chic signature programs to creative-minded travelers visiting New York City.”

Within the New York-inspired guestrooms include the Le Méridien signature bed, MALIN+GOETZ bath products, 4K smart TVs and an elevated desk inspired by higher surfaces used by creative individuals. Six of the rooms have walk-out terraces.

Amenities include Le Méridien Hub, the brand’s version of the lobby, the signature Latitude/Longitude Bar, Allora restaurant, a complimentary 24-hour health club and in-room dining.

The design team on the property included Gene Kaufman Architect and VLDG‘s Paul Vega and Vennie Lau.

Located on Fifth Avenue between West 30th and West 31st Streets, the new hotel is near attractions such as the Empire State Building, the NoMad district and Herald Square.
