NATIONAL REPORT—Kalibri Labs has released updated data from its COVID-19 Industry Health Dashboard, which is designed to provide critical insights to the hotel community as it weathers the storm of COVID-19.
Among the highlights are the following:
- Hotel demand had a pickup transitioning from July to August. This is particularly reflected in Rack/BAR, Promotion + Loyalty Member Rate and OTA occupancy. Concurrently, ADR has flattened in those same categories. There remains little to no improvement in Corporate or Group demand.
- While Group saw some slight near-term pickup, cancellations continue to grow in Q4 2020 and into 2021.
- Search traffic on selected major sites saw a slight uptick in the most recent week across each of the markets shown.
- Airline ticket purchases also reflect an increase in demand in the most recent week. In addition, the most recent week saw the smallest percentage drop in ticket purchases in the last six weeks for all major markets profiled.
