In Big Texas, a Bounty of New-Builds

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business has been rounding up recent new-builds in Texas, and there have been five noteworthy projects—some are in development stages, while others have opened.

Marriott AC Hotel in Fort Worth, TX
The Marriott AC Hotel will be located adjacent to the Kress Building in downtown Fort Worth. With its signature flair of handcrafted art, wooden decorations and distinctive design, the 16-story hotel will have 246 guestrooms plus a restaurant, bar, meeting areas, and rooftop pool/amenity deck with additional meeting space.

Embassy Suites in Amarillo, TX
The Embassy Suites in Amarillo has 250 guestrooms with ballroom and meeting facilities. Located directly across the street from the Amarillo Convention Center and Amarillo Performing Arts Center, the full-service hotel offers an indoor swimming pool and complete restaurant, bar and fitness facilities. A newly structured parking garage is also connected to the hotel. The hotel entry, covered by a steel and glass canopy, leads to an atrium lobby two stories tall.

Fairfield Inn & Suites in Terrell, TX
Hotel Equities has opened the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott-Terrell, TX. The new hotel has the latest Fairfield design and decor package, with distinctive touches designed for today’s traveler. In addition to complimentary WiFi and hot breakfast, the hotel offers rooms and suites that provide separate living, working and sleeping areas. Other amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and 3,600 sq. ft. of meeting space to accommodate up to 300 guests. It was developed by Scenic Capital Advisors LLC.

Hyatt Regency Stonebriar in Frisco, TX
The Hyatt Regency Stonebriar has broken ground in Frisco, TX, at Stonebriar Centre. The 18-story, 303-room hotel will have a parking garage, conference center and a city library. The hotel developer is Sam Moon Group; the contractor is Brasfield & Gorrie; and the architect is HKS Inc. Looney & Associates will handle the interior designs. The hotel will be attached to the Stonebriar Centre mall on the second floor and will be located between Nordstrom and Dillard’s. The project will have a 54,585-sq.-ft. conference center, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom and additional breakout spaces; an 800-space parking garage, of which 200 spaces will be available for game-day parking at the nearby Dr Pepper ballpark; and a 3,000-sq.-ft. Frisco Public Library available for use by hotel visitors and city residents, which will connect directly to the mall.
