Hotel Indigo Debuts in Two States; Plus More U.S. Openings

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotels have opened or are in the works in major U.S. cities, all with new amenities and close to local attractions:

Hotel Indigo Debuts in South Carolina and Mississippi

Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant, the first Hotel Indigo in South Carolina, has officially opened. Located close to Charleston, the new five-story property has 158 guestrooms and seven suites.

There’s also a full-service restaurant and bar, a resort-style oasis with pool, indoor/outdoor bar, cabanas, fire feature and sun chairs, 6,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, a fitness center and yoga room. Operated by Atlanta-based NorthPointe Hospitality, Hotel Indigo Mount Pleasant also has 6,000 sq. ft. of gathering space, including the 3,000-sq.-ft. Palmetto Ballroom that can accommodate up to 250 guests.

Hotel Indigo also opened in Mississippi. Hotel Indigo-Hattiesburg is the first and only Hotel Indigo in the state. It is located near the University of Southern Mississippi and The Avenues. The five-story boutique hotel has 100 rooms, a restaurant and bar, as well as a 24/7 business center.

Hotel Julian to Open in Chicago

Oxford Hotels & Resorts LLC—an affiliate of Oxford Capital Group LLC—is set to open the 218-room Hotel Julian Chicago in the fall. The Oxford Capital Group and Quadrum Global partnership led the redevelopment and adaptive-reuse hotel conversion of the historic Atlantic Bank Building on Michigan Ave. This project is the flagship property of Oxford’s latest luxury lifestyle hotel brand.

The over $75-million development is preserving many of the original components of the Benjamin Marshall-designed building.

Boutique Hotel Set to Debut in Sarasota, FL

The Sarasota Modern—A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, part of Marriott International Inc.—is set to debut later this year. The 89-room luxury boutique hotel has 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, a spa and restaurant.

Managed by StepStone Hospitality, the property was designed in collaboration with Hoyt Architects based in Sarasota, FL; Stephen Chung, a Boston-based architect; and architects from the Sarasota School of Architecture movement.

Hotel Equities Opens Courtyard by Marriott in Tampa, FL

Hotel Equities has opened the Courtyard by Marriott Tampa Northwest/Veterans Expressway in Tampa, FL. The 128-room hotel is owned by Citrus Park Hotel LLC.

The property has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and  a variety of room layouts and connective room/suite options, guest laundry and 1,200 sq. ft. of meeting and event space. It is close to the Westfield Citrus Park Town Center Mall and Tampa International Airport.

Dual-Branded Hilton Comes to NJ

The dual-branded Hampton Inn by Hilton Teaneck Glenpointe and Homewood Suites by Hilton Teaneck Glenpointe has opened in Teaneck, NJ, close to New York City. This brings a total of 350 new rooms to the Meadowlands District.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Teaneck Glenpointe offers a combination of studio and one-bedroom accommodations, with fully equipped kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. Hampton Inn by Hilton Teaneck Glenpointe provides guests with a free, hot breakfast, free WiFi, a 24-hour business center with complimentary printing, a fitness center, a pool and three outdoor areas.

Developed and owned by Alfred Sanzari Enterprises and managed by White Lodging, the hotels share The Lodge, a restaurant and lounge area, a 24-hour fitness center, indoor pool and meeting space that can accommodate up to 100 people.

SpringHill Suites to Open in Ringgold, GA

SpringHill Suites by Marriott has opened in Ringgold, GA. The 82-suite hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Horizon Hospitality Management Inc. of Alpharetta, GA.

The property is close to the Tennessee Aquarium, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Ruby Falls, Rock City and Camp Jordan Park and Arena. In addition, the hotel has two meeting rooms, complimentary WiFi, same-day dry cleaning, guest laundry facilities, a 24/7 market, an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center.
