Hotel Equities promotes Thompson

Hotel owner, operator and developer Hotel Equities has promoted Jenn Thompson to VP, business development, where she will oversee portfolio growth in the West.

She formerly served on Hotel Equities’ operations team and brings to her new role a depth of knowledge and understanding of the firm’s expertise and significant value-add generated for hotel owners, the company reports.

“Jenn has a unique perspective with her extensive background in operations and her enthusiasm for hospitality has kept her at the forefront of the everchanging industry landscape,” said Chief Development Officer Joe Reardon. “She is a great addition to the team, and we are excited to have Jenn leverage our company resources and capabilities to strategically grow in the West.”

Coming up through the ranks of operations, Thompson has operated the full spectrum of asset classes, including full, select and independent luxury properties, spanning the brands of Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. She has led the opening and acquisition of more than $500 million in premium and select assets, touching all disciplines.

She previously served as the director of acquisitions & sales for Summit Hotel Properties in advance of their IPO, and later led acquisitions, mergers and major renovation efforts under Interstate Hotels & Resorts. In 2020, she pivoted her career toward commercial real estate in the mixed-use and retail space, supporting the business development efforts and hospitality integrations in multi-family/mixed-use assets across 13 major cities, led by Iconic Capital.

In December 2021, she joined Hotel Equities as VP, operations, with a focus on key partnerships.
