Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown Debuts
Canopy by Hilton has opened Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown, the first Florida location of Hilton’s lifestyle hotel brand. The 150-room, 13-story hotel, operated by Palm Beach-based Driftwood Hospitality Management and owned by executives of Driftwood Hospitality and Coral Gables-based affiliate Driftwood Capital, is close to the Intracoastal Waterway to the east and the Palm Beach County Convention Center to the west.
The property will have a restaurant, a rooftop lounge and bar and a cocktail lounge, which are set to open in a few weeks. Additionally, Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown has a rooftop pool and 7,000 sq. ft. of event and meeting space. Canopy’s central location positions it within walking distance to Palm Beach, the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, the Norton Museum of Art and the shops and restaurants.
Construction Complete at Hyatt Place Chicago
Construction has finished at Hyatt Place Chicago—Wicker Park, a 99-room hotel in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. Nediya Group created the initial hotel design with Ron Vari Sr. from Vari Architects Ltd. From there, Chicago-based Legat Architects added its expertise to create the design of the 96,000-sq.-ft. hotel. Genuine Hospitality LLC will operate the hotel and Nick Psyhogios and his company Exemplary Builders Inc. oversaw construction. Sheedy/DeLaRosa Interiors headed the property’s interior design.
The eight-story hotel has a rooftop bar with skyline views, set to open with compliance to the State of Illinois and City of Chicago, and the hotel is set to open on June 2.
OTO Development Opens New Residence Inn in Garden City, NY
OTO Development has opened a hotel in New York’s Nassau County, the Residence Inn by Marriott Long Island Garden City. The new hotel, located at Roosevelt Field, has 163 studio and one-bedroom suites. The hotel is situated in the heart of Garden City with access to Belmont Park, Nassau Coliseum, Jones Beach, LaGuardia and JFK airports and several golf courses. The hotel has a 500-sq. ft. meeting room, a fitness center, indoor swimming and putting green.
Fairfield by Marriott Expands in Camarillo, CA
A 103-room Fairfield by Marriott hotel is now open in Camarillo, CA. The Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Camarillo will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Plantation Bay Hotels LLC of Irvine, CA. The hotel is near both Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, with access to downtown Camarillo, the Camarillo Premium Outlets, Ventura State Beach, Channel Island Harbor and Point Mugu State Park.
The property has a business center, food and beverage options, an outdoor swimming pool, exercise room and 460 sq. ft. of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 70 people and 1,500 sq. ft. of common space that can be used for meetings as well.
