Four Seasons opens in Minneapolis; more debuts

Recent openings in the U.S. include a Four Seasons Hotel in Minneapolis, a boutique hotel in Manhattan’s Financial District, the first dual-branded Yotel/Yotelpad property, located in Miami; and more.

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis
The 36-story Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis has opened in the downtown area of the city. The property has 222 rooms, all with unobstructed views; new dining concepts by local chef and restaurateur Gavin Kaysen; more than 16,000 sq. ft. of event space; and a floor dedicated to wellness and fun, complete with a spa, an indoor pool with floor-to-ceiling windows, and an outdoor pool on the city’s largest terrace, according to the brand.

The hotel is led by GM Florian Riedel, who began his career as a Four Seasons busser 27 years ago, and has been on the ground in Minneapolis for 10 months building a team of more than 300 people to bring Four Seasons service to the Twin Cities.

Located on the building’s 23rd-30th floors, 183 guestrooms and 39 suites feature skyline and river views from floor-to-ceiling windows. In-room features include a private MyBar outfitted with locally-sourced snacks; a Nespresso coffee maker; plush robes and slippers; premium WiFi; and a 65-in. flat-screen TV.

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis is also home to 34 fully serviced Four Seasons Private Residences on its uppermost floors.

The Wall Street Hotel
The Wall Street Hotel has opened in the historic Tontine building in lower Manhattan’s Financial District.

With architecture by Stonehill Taylor, interiors by Rose Ink Workshop, signature restaurant design by Charles & Co. and development assistance from Actium development company, The Wall Street Hotel is home to 180 individually designed guestrooms and suites, ranging in size from king rooms to multi-bedroom suites. The hotel experience is rounded out by curated concierge services, a lobby lounge, rooftop ballroom, 24-hour fitness center and soon-to-be-announced restaurant and bar concepts.

YOTEL/YOTELPAD Miami
YOTEL has introduced its first-ever combined YOTEL and YOTELPAD concept in Downtown Miami. Amenities include two on-site restaurants and bars, a pool deck and a gym. Guests will also benefit from check-in under a minute via self-service stations, SmartKey mobile entry, in-room mood lighting and amenity delivery via concierge robots.

YOTEL Miami is located near Bayfront Park, FTX Arena, Port of Miami, Miami Beach and Miami International Airport, as well as notable neighborhoods including Brickell, Wynwood, the Design District and Coconut Grove.

YOTEL Miami’s 222 hotel rooms range from 225-430 sq. ft. in king, queen and twin categories. All rooms feature the convertible SmartBed and open-concept bathrooms. Guests may also choose their own mood lighting with the room’s color wheel tool and take advantage of in-room mobile casting.

YOTELPAD Miami’s 231 pads are bookable from one night to monthly rates. Pad spaces—ranging from studio to one bedroom and two bedrooms—feature a full kitchen with appliances, dishware, washer and dryer, living room with a custom Murphy bed and a balcony with views of Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami.

Selina Union Market
Selina, the lifestyle and experiential hospitality brand targeting millennial and Gen Z travelers, has opened Selina Union Market in Washington, DC’s Union Market neighborhood. The hotel—the seventh for Selina in the U.S.—expands the brand’s global portfolio to more than 155 open and secured properties.

The property has 106 rooms of mixed accommodations, including suites, standard rooms, micro bedrooms and shared-style accommodations. It also includes multiple open floor coworking spaces and private meeting rooms, an all-day restaurant, four rentable artist studios, a cinema room, a common kitchen, an onsite wellness studio, a downstairs cellar for dancing and a rooftop with city views.

The hotel is working with a variety of local partners to bring distinct experiences to guests and locals. These partnerships include Skincando, an organic skincare line developed in Washington; Pure Drop IV, an on-demand concierge mobile IV therapy brand; DJ Farrah Flosscett, who will perform full time at the hotel; SoFar Sounds, set to perform surprise live concerts throughout the summer; and artist Vero Barker, who will showcase screen printing demonstrations and workshops. Other programs include pop-up food and beverage shops, wellness classes, movie nights, comedy shows, professional talks, access to tours with local distilleries and museums, dance classes and rooftop parties.

SpringHill Suites/Element Colorado Springs Downtown
Olive Real Estate Group, Hotel Equities, Colarelli Construction and Hotel Operations Services, the owners, development and operations partners, have opened the dual-branded SpringHill Suites by Marriott and Element by Westin Colorado Springs Downtown in Colorado. The property has a combined 261 guestrooms and features panoramic views of Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods Park and the Rocky Mountains.

The dual-branded property, located in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, is close to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, as well as Colorado College, University of Colorado Colorado Springs, the United States Air Force Academy and Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.

The eighth floor of the hotel is home to Lumen8 Rooftop Social, a contemporary restaurant and bar.

LaQuinta/Hawthorn Suites Pflugerville
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened the first La Quinta and Hawthorn Suites dual-branded hotel concept in Pflugerville, TX.

This new brand pairing has contributed to 48 hotels in Wyndham’s development pipeline of more than 1,500 hotels located in markets such as Orlando, Charlotte, San Antonio and Yuma, AZ. La Quinta and Hawthorn Suites target different types of travelers, and this launch provides an opportunity to attract both short and long-term guests for the owners of these new hotels, according to Wyndham.

The new Pflugerville property has a combined 103 rooms, with 73 featuring La Quinta’s Del Sol prototype guestroom and 30 with Hawthorn Suites’ new room design. The Hawthorn room design includes fully equipped kitchens.
