First Hospitality names SVP, operations; more personnel moves

First Hospitality has a new SVP, operations, while Hotel Equities and Coast Hotels Limited have also made personnel moves.

First Hospitality names Chris Lorino SVP, operations
First Hospitality has appointed Chris Lorino to the role of SVP, operations. Lorino (pictured above) brings more than 25 years of experience in overseeing hotel operations to his role with expertise in the lifestyle segment and hotel portfolio growth.

This appointment comes days after First Hospitality promoted seven executives, including three members of the operations team.

In his new role, Lorino is responsible for supporting the company’s senior operational leaders including VPs, regional and area directors and general managers, as well as assisting in the growth of new hotels in the full-service sector.

He spent the last four years working for Sage Hospitality, most recently as VP, operations, supporting the company in executing its business plan of growth in the full-service, lifestyle space. During this time period, he supported a portfolio that generated more than $350 million in revenue and led the operational aspects of adding 10 new hotels to his region. Lorino also worked for Provenance Hotels as a regional director, operations, supporting acquisitions; renovations and repositioning; and management of business activities.

Hotel Equities promotes Nancy Curtin Morris to SVP, talent
Hotel Equities (HE) has promoted Nancy Curtin Morris to SVP, talent, where she will focus on further enhancing the firm’s recruiting and retention efforts while also directing the learning and development programs offered for HE associates, recent college graduates and hotel owners. She reports directly to COO Bryan DeCort.

Since joining HE in 2010, she has built a training platform consisting of six proprietary training programs, designed to grow leaders in the hospitality industry. She also created the Operators Coaching Program (OCP) for Marriott hotel owners who wish to self-manage their hotels. HE is the only company approved by Marriott International to facilitate this training for hotel owners, according to the company.

Morris’ experience includes nearly 25 years with Marriott International, where she led the company’s national leadership training programs. She is currently working towards obtaining her doctorate in organizational leadership from The University of Phoenix.

Coast Hotel Limited appoints Brigitte Diem-Guy as VP
Coast Hotels Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of APA Hotel Canada Inc., has named Brigitte Diem-Guy VP, revenue strategies and communication.

In her new role, shel leads Coast Hotels’ marketing, communications, revenue performance and sales operations, a new position representing the consolidation of these disciplines into one department. This consolidation will allow Mark Hope, VP, development, to lead the exponential growth strategy and advance distribution for Coast Hotels in major gateway cities throughout North America, according to the company.

Diem-Guy brings more than 28 years of global marketing, communications, sales and brand positioning strategy to her role at Coast Hotels. Her career spans a broad cross-section of industries from destination marketing, travel and tourism, software and hospitality, includes the role as VP, sales, marketing & communication for SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts from 2011-2017.
