Drury Hotels begins construction on Charleston hotel

Drury Hotels‘ newest property, Drury Plaza Hotel North Charleston, is now under construction. With 252 guestrooms, it will be the brand’s second hotel in South Carolina and the seventh across the Carolinas.

The new Drury Plaza Hotel is located off I-26, less than 10 miles from downtown Charleston and Daniel Island, and three miles from the Charleston International Airport. The property is now accepting reservations starting July 1, 2025.

“Charleston is a thriving city, rich with history, culture, and southern hospitality,” said Chuck Drury, president/CEO, Drury Hotels. “South Carolina leisure and business travelers will experience warm welcomes, friendly service and amenities within minutes of all the incredible food, museums, entertainment and historic attractions Charleston offers.”

The hotel will include 3,600 sq. ft. of versatile meeting space and the Meetings with More program, offering free WiFi in meeting rooms for all attendees, no food and beverage minimums and a flexible cancellation policy that allows groups to use a portion of their cancellation fee toward a future event at any Drury Hotel.

Other amenities will include free dinnertime snacks and beverages at Drury’s signature 5:30 Kickback; The Kitchen + Bar, a late-night dining option; free WiFi throughout the hotel; 24-hour business and fitness centers; and an outdoor pool and spa.

Drury Hotels will plan for team member recruitment and key hires in the Charleston market as construction efforts continue. Once open, the hotel will employ approximately 70 full-time and part-time team members.
