Dream Hollywood launches first hotel NFT membership program

Luxury, lifestyle boutique hotel Dream Hollywood has unveiled its first-ever VIP membership program, Social Club, purchasable through a non-fungible token (NFT) in the form of a limited-edition, original Perry Cooper NFT artwork.

A first-of-its kind offering, according to the hotel, the membership blends unique experiences in both the real world and in the metaverse to provide guests with an experience unlike any other. Guests can purchase early access to the memberships at a discounted price during Dream Hollywood’s live launch event today co-hosted by DJ and Web3 influencer Georgia Sinclair. Otherwise, memberships will be available on OpenSea starting Monday, June 27 at 3 ETH.

Membership perks are exclusively tied to the NFT, which include bespoke metaverse activations, private events with the Crypt Gallery, the creative minds behind the NFT gallery exhibit at a the property, access to the Gunnar Peterson Gym, poolside lounge chairs at the Highlight Room pool, an expert concierge, co-working spaces, use of the Lincoln luxury house cars and more. Members also receive a complimentary one-night stay in a luxury suite, as well as up to 10% discount on hotel rooms, up to 10% discount on weekday poolside cabanas and other discounts on all event spaces, including Tao Group’s Los Angeles venues.

Perks of the Social Club are active for one year, and purchasers will retain the NFT long afterward. Further, members can sell their NFT at any point during the year, which would actively transfer all membership benefits to the recipient.

“Since opening in 2017, Dream Hollywood has been a pioneer in the hospitality space,” said Vaughn Davis, the hotel’s general manager. “We’re always looking for exciting and innovative ways to entertain guests and visitors while providing an exceptional experience. We partnered with Savioke to integrate high-tech robot butlers into our offerings and worked with Crypt Gallery to launch the first-ever NFT gallery in the U.S. We’re digging deeper into consumers’ fascination with technology, and more specifically NFTs, with our Social Club membership. We’ve been working on this for quite some time now, so we’re excited to finally be able to share it with everyone.”

For the NFT, Dream Hollywood commissioned NFT artist Cooper. A British 3D motion graphics designer based in the U.S., he is known for creating playful animated loops that provide a satisfying new spin on everyday objects and experiences. The concept was to create a “Concierge of the Future,” where viewers venture into the mind’s eye of an avatar, revealing futuristic versions of Hollywood. The concept showcases the convergence of the real world and the metaverse, much like Dream Hollywood’s Social Club marries in-person activations and the digital realm.

“I was introduced to Dream Hollywood and the Social Club through the Crypt Gallery,” said Cooper. “The project was fascinating to me since it’s one of the first of its kind, and it was great getting to work with a hotel that was committed to art, both through traditional means and innovative platforms like Web3. For the NFT, I wanted to reflect Dream Hollywood’s clean, vibrant and luxury aesthetic while bringing color and optimism to these future visions, like I have in previous work. I also wanted to incorporate the guest into the experience, so each avatar was created so users could ultimately select their unique 1/1 avatar. This collection expands my horizons, literally and figuratively, and I hope members enjoy each of these unique works.”

Dream Hotels plans to launch a similar membership program at Dream Doha in Qatar, the brand’s first foray into the Middle East, following its opening later this year.
