INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hospitality companies are making moves in their corporate offices, including Club Med combining its sales and marketing efforts with the appointment of Sabrina Cendral. Here’s a look:

Club Med Appoints New SVP, Marketing & Sales

Club Med has promoted Sabrina Cendral to SVP, marketing and sales.

In her new role, Cendral unites and oversees U.S. sales and marketing, while also driving marketing strategies for North America as a whole (including Canada and Mexico).

The new role reports directly to Carolyne Doyon, president/CEO, Club Med North America and the Caribbean, and is part of the company’s worldwide leadership committee. “Our goal in merging U.S. sales and marketing into a new centralized role is to increase commercial impact and support our North American growth plans, including the opening of our first Exclusive Collection resort in North America, Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda in the Dominican Republic,” said Doyon.

Cendral joined the company in 2008 and brings an extensive background of international marketing and business experience to her role. She joined the company to launch the brand’s Luxury Villas and Chalets, which are now an integral part of the company’s Exclusive Collection. While at the Paris headquarters, she also oversaw the customer experience design for several new resorts, including Valmorel in the French Alps and Pragelato Vialattea in Italy. In 2013, Cendral relocated to Club Med’s North American headquarters as the director of brand, communications and product marketing. Shortly after, Cendral was promoted to VP to head the marketing and digital efforts for North America and the Caribbean.

BD Hotels Appoints Heslin as VP for Pod Hotels

BD Hotels has appointed Colleen Heslin to the newly created role of VP of revenue management for The Pod Hotels.

Heslin is responsible for the overall vision and strategic execution to drive demand optimization and revenue profitability, and replicate The Pod Hotels’ business model in other key markets. she will leverage BD Hotels’ expertise in hotel development and understanding of the market to expand The Pod Hotels brand across the country and eventually globally.

She formerly oversaw a large portfolio of hotels in major markets throughout the U.S. in her role as North American regional revenue director at InterContinental Hotels Group. Prior to that, she held regional and corporate revenue positions at Denihan and Highgate Hotels.

Kempinski Hotels Promotes Jaschke

Kempinski Hotels has promoted Benedikt Jaschke to chief quality officer and member of the management board.

In his former role as VP, operational strategy & quality management, he successfully implemented a new level of standards and quality measurement tools at Kempinski Hotels together with his team, according to the company.

In his new role, he will continue to lead the operational strategy and quality management globally. In addition, supporting the stringent growth strategy of the company, he will set the foundation for the newly established F&B division to implement, fortify and take the lead of the brand’s food and beverage strategy by focusing on the positioning of Kempinski as a creative culinary brand and developing invigorating, cutting-edge innovative F&B concepts, according to the company.

He will be responsible for the launch a sustainability program in the first half of next year, putting the ecological footprint at the core of the Kempinski business model, from the construction or renovation phase up to the daily operation of hotels around the globe. He will also develop a complete set of green and sustainable innovative standards, as well as social responsibility initiatives.
