Hotel Projects Underway Across the Country

NATIONAL REPORT—New hotels are on the horizon across the country, including the tallest structure north of the Strip in Las Vegas reaching the midpoint in its construction. Here’s a look:

Circa Resort & Casino Coming to Vegas

Circa Resort & Casino has reached the halfway mark in its 22-month construction process. On track for a December 2020 opening, the project will be the first ground-up gaming resort in historic Downtown Las Vegas since 1980.

Located on the Fremont Street Experience, the 1.25 million-sq.-ft., 777-room property will stand as the tallest structure north of the Las Vegas Strip. Amenities will include the world’s largest sportsbook and a rooftop outdoor pool amphitheater.

Steelman Partners is overseeing Circa’s architecture and design, with McCarthy Building Companies Inc. serving as general contractor and Tré Builders as construction manager.

Commodore Perry Estate to Open in Austin, TX

Auberge Resorts Collection plans a spring 2020 opening for its first urban retreat in Austin, TX.

Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection will be a modern interpretation of a residential estate from yesteryear, according to the company. Designed by Ken Fulk, the 10-acre resort will have 42 rooms and 12 suites, and amenities including an organic urban farm, Lutie’s—the signature garden restaurant, a members club and an outdoor swimming pool.

Built in the Jazz Age in 1928, Commodore Perry Estate was originally the country home of Commodore Edgar and Lutie Perry, a place for them to entertain and connect with family when they weren’t traveling through Europe. The 10,800-sq.-ft. Italianate mansion was designed by Dallas architect Henry Bowers Thompson in 1927.

Hotel Equities Breaks Ground on West Coast Towneplace Suites

Construction is underway on the new TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Tehachapi, CA.

Hotel Equities will manage the hotel, developed and owned by California-based H2H Asset Group. The hotel site is part of a planned business park. Tehachapi’s location mid-way between Bakersfield and Lancaster attracts travelers visiting both major cities. The Tehachapi economy is largely based on wind and solar farms in the area and also benefits from expansions at nearby Edwards AFB.

Hotel Coming to Legacy International Center

The Legacy International Center is set to be unveiled this winter in San Diego, including a hotel and conference center; an International Experience Center; and a 500-seat performing arts theater. The boutique-style hotel that will offer 126 rooms and suites in a variety of room types, a spa and salon, and private pool.
