Caesars to Open Record-Breaking Conference Center in Vegas, More U.S. Developments…

NATIONAL REPORT—An indoor/outdoor conference center is coming to Las Vegas, a property is in the works in the artsy Wynwood, FL area and a boutique inn shapes up in New Hampshire. Here’s more on the unique properties coming to cities across the U.S.:

Caesars Brings Record-Breaking Conference Center to Vegas

Caesars Entertainment Corporation broke ground on Caesars Forum, a $375-million, 550,000-sq.-ft. conference center in Las Vegas. Close to more than 20,000 Caesars Entertainment hotel rooms, connected to 5,000 Caesars Entertainment hotel rooms and adjacent to the LINQ Promenade retail district, this LEED silver-rated facility provides an option for meetings and events.

Caesars Forum will be the first facility of this size built on one level and will have the two largest pillarless ballrooms in the world, equivalent to 27 tennis courts or three ice hockey rinks. It will also have Forum Plaza, the first 100,000-sq.-ft. dedicated outdoor meeting and event space in Las Vegas. The conference center will create 1,000 local construction jobs and more than 450 permanent jobs upon opening in 2020. 

 Metro 1 Seeks Partnership to Develop Wynwood, FL Property

Tony Cho, CEO of Metro 1, is seeking joint-venture hospitality partner(s) to co-develop a mixed-use hospitality, office, retail and/or residential project on the Wynwood Gateway site in Miami.

The approximately one-acre property (41,550 sq. ft.) is composed of a 10,240-sq.-ft. retail building, which

received a renovation in 2012 and is leased to several tenants including Ducati, BoxElder craft beer market, Palmar Asian Bistro, and the new Selinas/Brother & Brawlers concept store, as well as a 2,200-sq.-ft., five-unit residential structure. An original feasibility study by international architecture firm Arquitectonica shows the project is capable of supporting 388,000 sq. ft. of new development, including 146 hotel rooms, 70 multifamily units, 50,000 sq. ft. of office and 20,000 sq. ft. of retail space.

Additionally, the property is located within the Wynwood Arts and Café District and on main traffic arteries connecting Wynwood, Edgewater, Downtown, Midtown and the Design District. Cho is seeking like-minded co-development and capital partners familiar with the Wynwood neighborhood’s unique ethos and personality.

New England Inn to Offer Cooking Classes, Local Flair 

Pickering House Inn is set to open in Wolfeboro, NH. The 10-room property is located on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee and will be the first luxury inn of its kind in the state’s Lakes Region.

The Barn at the inn will host Saturday evening Innkeeper dinners showcasing the Inn’s chef as well as visiting chefs from New England and beyond. Demonstration cooking classes held in the Gathering Kitchen will also be an activity for “at-home chefs” in the making.

The Pickering House is proximate to downtown Wolfeboro with artisan shops, galleries and seasonal eateries. Guests also have access to Lake Winnipesaukee’s aquatic activities, including stand-up paddle boarding, boat rentals, swimming and canoeing and excursions to other lakeside towns. Additional activities include nearby hiking, skiing, antiquing, tastings at local spirit companies and the Great Waters Music Festival.
