Azul Hospitality Group has opened The Bower Coronado, a 39-room luxury boutique hotel built on the site of the former Villa Capri and the historic grounds of John D. Spreckels’ Japanese tea garden in Coronado, CA. The property was developed in partnership with owner J Street Hospitality.
“The Bower Coronado represents a significant addition to our luxury portfolio and showcases our expertise in operating distinctive lifestyle properties,” said Mark Crisci, president, Azul Hospitality Group. “From initial concept through development and now operations, our team has worked diligently to create a truly unique hospitality experience that captures the essence of Coronado while offering an unparalleled level of personalized service.”
Located about six miles from downtown San Diego and steps away from Coronado Beach, the hotel’s design, created in partnership with architectural firm Delawie and SFA Design, “embraces the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi through minimalism with clean lines and organic materials,” according to Azul Hospitality Group.
The property features Dive, Coronado’s first rooftop bar and restaurant, which is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
