Airbnb Puts Exceptional Hosts Front and Center

NATIONAL REPORT—Airbnb is giving its 600,000 Superhosts—a group that has more than doubled since 2017—more exposure to prospective guests during Superhost week on Dec. 10.

Superhosts are designated the home-sharing platform’s top-rated and most experienced hosts. There have been approximately 150 million guest arrivals in listings hosted by Superhosts. In general, they must host at least 10 trips and have an average rating of more than 4.8 out of 5 stars. Superhosts have hosted on average 140 nights and earn 22% more than other hosts, according to the company.

Promoting Superhosts on Airbnb

Later this month, Airbnb’s Superhosts will be put front and center on Airbnb.com. The front-page display will highlight their role in the Airbnb community and make it easier for guests to book a listing offered by a Superhost.

Telling the Superhost Story on Instagram

Each day of the week beginning Dec. 10, a different Superhost will take over the Airbnb Instagram feed, delivering their stories to the more than 3.5 million people who follow Airbnb on Instagram.

Documenting the Superhost Experience

The platform will release a series of long and short-form videos highlighting the stories of Superhosts from around the world. These videos will be available and promoted on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
