A Trio of Openings in the Lone Star State

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotel brands are taking Texas by storm. Here’s a look at the properties now open in Houston; Arlington, TX; and Irving, TX:

AC Brand Moves into Houston
The new AC Hotel by Marriott Downtown Houston is now open. The first AC in Houston and third in Texas, the 10-story, 195-room hotel is on the National Register of Historic Buildings as an example of modernist architecture of the 1960s. The property has been restored to feature mid-century modern design elements from its 1960s renovation. The property has a fitness center, business center, cocktail lounge, dining area, coffee house and 4,000-sq.-ft. meeting and ballroom area.

Live! By Loews Opens its Doors in Arlington, TX
The multi-concept sports resort, Live! By Loews—Arlington, TX, in open in Arlington’s entertainment district. The 300-room hotel has five restaurants and lounges; 35,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event space; a tower terrace, event lawn, outdoor infinity pool and private rooftop terrace; and access to Texas Live!, Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Park and forthcoming Globe Life Field and AT&T Stadium. The $150-million hotel is a joint venture between Loews Hotels & Co a wholly owned subsidiary of Loews Corporation, The Cordish Companies and the Texas Rangers.

TownePlace Expands Footprint in Irving, TX
Marriott International’s TownePlace Suites by Marriott DFW Airport North Irving is now open in Irving, TX. The hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by LodgeCap DFW LP and managed by InterMountain Management LLC of Monroe, LA. The property is close to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and downtown Dallas. Amenities include food and beverage options, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and business center.
