A Trio of New-Build Hotel Projects Are Underway

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—A Hyatt House is being built in Chicago, Four Seasons is planning a new hotel and residences project in Minneapolis, and there’s more.

Sender Completes 14-story Hyatt House Hotel

Sender, serving as base building and interior construction manager, has completed construction of Chicago’s newest Hyatt House extended-stay hotel. The 14-story, 167,000-sq.-ft. hotel is located in the heart of Chicago’s Fulton Market neighborhood at 105 N. May St. The Hyatt House is the first hotel in the Fulton Market district to cater to extended-stay corporate travelers, and includes amenities ranging from an indoor pool and multiple green roof features to upgraded common areas such as the bar and lounge with city views.

The hotel building offers a third-floor lobby and first-floor future retail space. The pool, workout center and lounge are on the 14th floor, with 200 guestrooms on floors 4-13. Sterling Bay is the hotel’s developer and Sender collaborated with project architect Reckelhoff Saunders Architects.

Four Seasons Unveils Plans for Hotel, Private Residences in Minneapolis

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, in partnership with United Properties, a commercial property development and investment company in Minnesota and Colorado, revealed plans for Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Minneapolis, expected to open in early 2022 at RBC Gateway.

The new 34­story building will be situated at the convergence of business and leisure in Minneapolis, at the top of Nicollet Mall, the city’s pedestrian thoroughfare. A few short blocks from the Mississippi River, the mixed use complex will also serve as RBC Wealth Management’s U.S. headquarters.

Cabot Goes Global with Cabot Saint Lucia

Cabot, a luxury golf resort and residential community in Canada, plan to develop, manage and operate a new master planned resort community in Saint Lucia—the brand’s first international property. Located on Point Hardy, a 375-­acre peninsula at the northern tip of Saint Lucia, Cabot Saint Lucia will expand upon its offerings.

Plans include a 50­suite boutique hotel, three restaurants, boutique retail shops, Cabot Spa and clubhouse. In addition, residents and guests will have exclusive access to an array of activities including a sports facility, a full-­service beach club and excursions with the Cabot Saint Lucia Explorers Team.
