A Look at Four New-Build Hotel Projects

NATIONAL REPORT—Several properties have recently broken ground, including one in Texas, another in Wisconsin and one in Pennsylvania. There was also a topping off ceremony in Florida.

Construction Begins on New Element by Westin Hotel in Irving, TX
Construction has commenced on a 157-room, high-rise Element Hotel in Irving, TX. The construction is being performed by DDG Construction. The hotel will be owned and operated by Lodgic Hospitality. Mayse & Associates designed the property.

Cambria Hotels Breaks Ground in Downtown Milwaukee
Choice Hotels International Inc. and Integrated Plankinton Milwaukee LLC have broke ground on the Cambria Hotel Milwaukee. The four-story, 132-room property is slated to open in the summer of 2019.

Mount Airy Plans to Break Ground on Casino Destination Development
Mount Airy Pittsburgh Casino Resort will break ground in Q4 2018 in Beaver County and open in late 2019. The property is expected to have 750 slot machines, 30 table games and a high limit area. Guests will also be able to take advantage of exciting amenities, including a food court, buffet, sports bar and center bar.

Bluegreen Vacations’ The Fountains Resort in Orlando Holds Topping Off Ceremony
Bluegreen Vacations’ The Fountains Resort in Orlando has held a “topping off” ceremony at the resort. The building will contain 97 guest units—91 two-bedroom and 6 presidential units—as well as two floors of sales space. It is expected to open in 2019.
