Groundbreaking commences on the Westin Jekyll Island in Georgia.
JEKYLL ISLAND, GA—Adjacent to the new Jekyll Island Convention Center, Westin Jekyll Island, a 200-room, beachfront hotel, which will open in September 2014 as part of the Jekyll Island Beach Village project, recently broke ground. The project is a joint venture, Jekyll Oceanfront Hotel LLC, comprised of Leon N. Weiner & Associates, Inc. and New Castle Hotels & Resorts.

The Embassy Suites in Palm Desert, CA is situated over nine acres of sprawling desert.
LOS ANGELES—Urban Commons LLC, together with Brighton Management, recently purchased two properties in California. The acquired hotels include the Embassy Suites, an all-suite, full service hotel situated over nine acres of sprawling desert in Palm Desert and Radisson Plaza in San Jose, a full-service, five-story 196-room hotel situated on 2.75 acres.

The Best Western Pioneer Plaza Hotel recently opened.
CARBONDALE, PA—Situated on a historic downtown location, the Best Western Pioneer Plaza Hotel opened today. The hotel was built on the site of the former Irving Theater, which stood from 1923-2003 and was an active local attraction from 1923-1973.

Met Troy Hotel will undergo renovations.
TROY, MI—Through its subsidiary Met Hotel Partners LLC, New California Hotels Corporation recently announced plans to modify the 17-acre, 200-room Met Troy Hotel. Renovations will begin June 2013 and the hotel is scheduled for completion in April 2014.
