SAN FRANCISCO–The 1,499-room San Francisco Marriott Marquis has begun renovating its entire rooms inventory, the final step in a 10-year improvement plan.
New wallpaper, carpet, drapery, lighting fixtures and seating elements in guestrooms will be replaced as part of the project. Earlier phases of the renovation encompassed the lobby, meeting space, restaurants and second-floor atrium. A highlight of the work entailed raising the ceiling of the Golden Gate Ballroom.
The 39-story hotel is located south of Market St., next to the Moscone Convention Center.
